DESCRIPTION:Ladies\,\ngentlemen\,\nDear members\,\nDear Partners\, \nIt is a great pleasure for me to invite you to the 9th FATO International Congress! \nThis 9th FATO Congress will be held in Entebbe\, a city of UGANDA located on a peninsula on the northern shore of Lake Victoria\, at an altitude of 1\,140 meters\, 35 km from the current capital Kampala. The congres is planned to be held from March 24 to 28\, 2025. \nFor this congress\, the scientific committee of our continental federation has chosen the following theme for this Congress FATO 2024 : « Promoting Equitable Access to Rehabilitation Services and Assistive Technologies in Africa« \, which is totally in line with the objectives of health coverage of the World Health Organization\, one of the targets that countries around the world set for themselves when they adopted the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015\, and the findings of the Global Report on Assistive Technologies for the implementation of priority interventions aimed at increasing access to assistive technologies as mentioned in the “Regional Strategic Action Framework to improve access to assistive technologies in the African Region of the WHO». \nAchieving such a situation of equitable and universal coverage of rehabilitation services and assistive technologies in Africa would enable people to benefit from the rehabilitation services they need without facing financial difficulties\, and to receive quality care that is good enough to improve their health. \, their quality of life and their social participation. \nThis is the objective of the FATO for this 9th Congress! \nFATO would like to rely on all of you to make it happen and bring a real change in the world of rehabilitation and especially in the lives of people with physical disabilities throughout Africa. \nWhether you are Orthoprosthetists\, Physiotherapists\, Physical Rehabilitation Physicians\, Surgeons\, Government Organization\, Non Governmental Organization\, Association of / for Persons with Disabilities\, Speech Language Pathologists\, Occupational Therapists\, Policy Makers\, Suppliers\, Industrialists\, Biomechanists\, Podo-Orthotists\, People Responsible for Rehabilitation centers\, this 9th Congress and its goal challenge us all to come together and lay the foundations of this universal access to rehabilitation services\, and to define the ways and means by which this access will become real. \nHere is the time to act\, quickly\, well and efficiently in rehabilitation  and Assistive Technology in Africa! \nThe program is designed so that everyone can find his/her own place\, make his/her contribution and make his/her contribution\, through oral and written scientific communications\, symposia\, exhibitions of new technologies\, practical demonstration workshops\, training sessions and workshops\, general discussions\, and many others. \nAll FATO committees are hard at work to offer you the best of the FATO Congresses and your participation and contribution will be essential to give meaning to all this work. \nSo I hope to see you again at this 2025 FATO Congress! \nLadies and gentlemen\, dear members\, dear partners\, please receive my best regards. \nTimothee M. SUMMARY:9ème Congrès International de la Fédération Africaine des Professionnels de la Réadaptation
DESCRIPTION:Mesdames\,\nMessieurs\,\nChers membres\,\nChers Partenaires\, \nC’est pour moi un grand plaisir de vous inviter au 9ème Congrès International de la FATO ! \nCe 9ème Congrès de la FATO se déroulera à Entebbe\, en Uganda. \nLa ville est située sur une presqu’île de la rive nord du lac Victoria\, à une altitude de 1 140 mètres\, à 35 km de l’actuelle capitale. Le congrès est prévu se tenir du 24 au 28 mars 2025. \nPour ce congrès\, le comité scientifique de notre fédération continentale a retenu le thème pour ce Congrès FATO 2024\, « Promouvoir un Accès équitable aux services de réadaptation et aux Technologies d’assistance en Afrique»\, qui est totalement en phase avec les objectifs de couverture sanitaire universelle de l’OMS\, une des cibles que les pays du monde se sont fixés lorsqu’ils ont adopté les objectifs de développement durable en 2015\, et les résultats du Rapport Mondial sur les Technologies d’Assistance pour la mise en œuvre d’interventions prioritaires visant à favoriser l’accès aux technologies d’assistance comme mentionné dans le « Cadre d’action stratégique régional pour améliorer l’accès aux technologies d’assistance dans la Région africaine de l’OMS ». \nParvenir à une telle situation de couverture équitable et universelle aux services de réadaptation en Afrique permettrait aux populations de bénéficier des services de réadaptation et de technologies d’assistance dont elles ont besoin sans se heurter à des difficultés financières\, et de recevoir des soins de qualité suffisamment bons pour améliorer leur santé\, leur qualité de vie et leur participation sociale. \nTel est l’objectif que se fixe la FATO pour ce 9ème Congrès ! \nEt la FATO voudrait compter sur tous pour y arriver et apporter ce changement réel dans le monde de la réadaptation et surtout dans la vie des personnes en situation de handicap dans toute l’Afrique. \nQue vous soyez Orthoprothésistes\, Kinésithérapeutes\, Médecins de réadaptation physique\, Chirurgiens\, Organisation Gouvernementale\, Organisation Non Gouvernementale\, Association de/pour Personnes en situation de Handicap\, Orthophonistes\, Ergothérapeutes\, Décideurs Politiques\, Fournisseurs\, Industriels\, Biomécaniciens\, Podo-Orthésistes\, Responsables de centres de réadaptation\, ce 9ème Congrès et son objectif nous interpellent tous à nous rassembler et à poser les bases de cet accès universel aux services de réadaptation et des technologies d’assistance\, et à définir les axes et les moyens par lesquels cet accès deviendra réel. \nVoici venu le temps d’agir\, vite\, bien et avec efficacité dans la réadaptation et les Technologies d’Assistance en Afrique ! \nLe programme est conçu de sorte que chacun s’y retrouve\, trouve un terrain de contribution et apporte sa pierre\, à travers des communications scientifiques orales et écrites\, des symposiums\, des expositions des nouvelles technologies\, des ateliers de démonstrations pratiques\, des sessions de discussions générales\, et bien d’autres. \nTous les comités de la FATO sont à pied d’œuvre pour vous offrir le meilleur des Congrès de la FATO et votre participation et votre contribution seront indispensables pour donner du sens à tout ce travail. \nJ’espère donc vous revoir à ce Congrès FATO 2025. \nMesdames\, Messieurs\, chers membres\, veuillez recevoir mes salutations cordiales. \nTimothée M.
