FATO Info n° 21 – April 2008
I had already heard about FATO when I started my job, both from my predecessor and from your Secretary General, who works at the CNAOB.
But I was far from imagining an invitation from the President of FATO to sign editorial No. 21 of Fato Info.
I conclude that this honor bestowed upon me by the President of FATO is your form of welcome for my integration into this great family of functional rehabilitation that you are building in Africa.
Our continent, still very far from health for all, since at least 10% of the population remains excluded from our healthcare systems, truly needs the participation of functional rehabilitation stakeholders to better organize care for people with disabilities.
My first impression of FATO’s activities was your training organized at the Vivre Debout Center of the Yopougon University Hospital in Abidjan (RCI), where CNAOB participants produced a report that amazed their colleagues. This first positive impression I had of your activities allows me to reassure you of my sympathy for your organization.
For Fato Info readers, I would simply like to clarify that I am Abdoulaye ZAN, Colonel and Orthopedic Surgeon, the new Director of the CNAO in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Thank you and enjoy reading!
Dr. Abdoulaye ZAN
Director of CNAO BURKINA
